Seasonal Allergies Shower Hack

While I absolutely love Spring time & early Summer here in Austin, my sinuses definitely do not love the seasonal allergies that come with the change of weather.

Whenever I’m feeling super congested, or even suffering from a migraine one of my favorite things to do is take a steamy shower and add a few drops of essential oil to help soothe my senses and open up my stuffy nose. All you need is your oil of choice, I love using lavender, peppermint and/or eucalyptus, and add a few drops to your shower floor. Just make sure to drop the oils in a corner that won’t be immediately flooded with water. You want the essential oils to stay somewhat in place while the steam from the hot water activates the oils and transforms your shower to a spa-like experience.

As with any essential oil tip, make sure you are using quality brand essential oils. I usually tell friends to stay away buying oils from Hobby Lobby, or Target as those are usually blended with synthetic fragrances and other fillers that aren't beneficial to your health. Instead I like to buy my pure oils from companies such as Young Living, DoTerra, Mountain Rose Herbs, Edens Garden, or even Plant Therapy.

If you have any questions regarding where/how to buy oils, send me a message! I would love to help you and switch over to some more natural products.
